Mobile Robotics 2025

Mobile Robotics 2025

I had lots of fun being the Teaching Assistant for the Mobile Robotics course held by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The students get to program a 1/10th sized car to perform mapping, localization and navigation autonomously in both indoor and outdoor environments. There is a final racetrack challenge where the students had to design the car to perform both Object Detection and Vision-Control loop to perform various tasks. Their project called Autolap involved designing the car to autonomously navigate itself along the field track staying within the lanes for 1 entire loop. I helped design the project, taught the tutorials and assisted with porting the car and homework over from ROS1 architecture to ROS2 architecture.
